At Clio’s Scroll Productions, we fuse the ancient art of storytelling with a love of learning history to create compelling narratives in a variety of media formats.

In Greek mythology, the muses are the gods of arts and culture, the inspiration for poetry, music, dance, and myths. Clio is the muse of history - the “proclaimer” - who broadcasts the great feats and achievements of the past and present. Clio often holds an open scroll in her hands, a medium through which stories were recorded and transmitted in ancient Greece.

In contemporary times, we have a larger array of media in which to educate and entertain audiences through historical storytelling. While our books, films, and podcasts reach a broader and more diverse audience than the scrolls of ancient times, the core of our mission is as old as Greek mythology – to “proclaim” the stories of our past in order to educate, entertain, and preserve them.

A "muse" can more generally refer to someone or something that lends inspiration to a creative or artistic endeavor. Clio’s Scroll Productions also acts as a modern muse, facilitating historical storytelling through our support of artists and creators of written, auditory, and visual content.
