At Clio’s Scroll Productions LLC, we fuse the ancient art of storytelling with a love of history to create compelling narratives using documentary film, podcasts, and other media formats.
In Greek mythology, the muses were the goddesses of arts and culture, the inspiration for poetry, music, dance, and myths. Clio was the muse of history – the “proclaimer” who broadcast the great feats and achievements of past times and present days. Clio is often portrayed as holding an open scroll, a medium through which stories were recorded and transmitted in ancient times.
In contemporary times, we have a broader diversity of media in which to entertain and educate audiences through historical storytelling. And while film, podcasts, websites, and apps reach a larger and more diverse audience than the scrolls of ancient times, the core of our mission is as old as Greek civilization – to “proclaim” the stories of our past in order to entertain, educate, and preserve them.
A "muse" also refers to someone or something that lends inspiration to a creative or artistic endeavor. Clio’s Scroll Productions LLC acts as a modern muse, facilitating historical storytelling through our support of stories and the artists who "proclaim" them through documentary films, podcasts, and other outlets.
